Presentation of GERIA

GERIA (Expert Group on Institutional Reforms in Africa) is an African NGO. It aims to be a framework for strategic reflection aimed at proposing and building, for the benefit of the governments of public and private organizations in African States, a framework and appropriate instruments for discussion, consultation, research, training and solutions, with a view to promoting the implementation of institutional reform policies in the three (3) strategic axes of GERIA: 1) institutional governance; 2) territorial and integral development; 3) the process of systemic and mental change.

  1. GERIA – think Tank works as a reservoir of ideas and proposals. This entity is responsible for mobilizing Congolese, African and international expertise around issues of the hour and future for African states, through the organization of conferences, seminars and events.

  2. GERIA – Consultingis the research and consultancy entity of GERIA, which translates the cerebration, idea proposals, programs and projects of the experts mobilized by the GERIA - Think Tank, in documentary production (Plans, Reports, Briefing Notes and Terms of Reference), in order to facilitate and contribute to the implementation expected reforms.

  3. GERIA – Institute is the training and capacity building entity for all those whose skills require a suitable investment to improve their governance and reform actions on the one hand, and on the other hand, key players the process of systemic and mental change for the advent of a new political, economic, social and cultural paradigm.


    GERIA – Institute will not issue a diploma or certificate.

    It is from innovating device: : the knowledge and skills passport (KSP) that GERIA will sanction its training.

    The KSP Knowledge and Skills Passport have three levels:

    • KSP1: Acquisition of skill;
    • KSP2 : KSP1 plus Development of skills;
    • KSP3 : KSP2 plus Development of skills / expertise.

    Trainings are grouped into domains and domains into modules.

    Each module evaluated successfully will be certified by an authorized body or organism.

    The modules undergoing training and capacity building are grouped together in a room named after an illustrious internationally renowned personality in one of the disciplines or subjects contained in the module. Here is the list of rooms and areas / modules taught:

    1. Wangari MUTA MAATHAI room :Civilization, Personal Development, sustainable Developpement, Change Management;
    2. Galiléo Galilei « Galilée » room : science and technology, innovation, research;
    3. Henri Lopes room : Language, oral and written expression technique, technical management;
    4. Georges- Eugène HAUSSMANN room: Planning, decentralization, territorial and urban development;
    5. Alphonse Nzoungou room: Leadership, Governance, Economy, Organization and Foresight;
    6. Henri KISSINGER room: Strategies, politics, international relations.

    In the training modules we have to insert the Law, the management of the projects, studies of the organizations, Management/accounting, human resources and administration.
